Christopher Nolan eyes summer 2026 release, Matt Damon might star: We have some good news for Christopher Nolan fans. The acclaimed director is reportedly eyeing a summer 2026 release for his next untitled project, with Hollywood star Matt Damon likely to feature, Deadline reported.
Matt Damon and Nolan had collaborated on the massive critical and commercial success, Oppenheimer.
While there are no details out yet regarding the secret project, but it is being said that Damon would lead the film, which will have a starry ensemble cast, much like Oppenheimer. Nolan is eyeing a July 17, 2026 release.
Sources told Deadline that the film would probably go on floor early next year.
Nolan’s last release, Oppenheimer, grossed $975.6 million worldwide besides being nominated for a bunch of prestigious awards, including the Oscars.
Matt Damon and Nolan had previously worked together on Oppenheimer as well as the 2014 release, Interstellar.
Meanwhile, Matt Damon was last seen in the 2024 release, The Instigators. He has Accountant 2 in the pipeline, which will also feature JK Simmons and Jon Bernthal, among others, in pivotal parts.
